How to Make Yu Bu Cho Bap (Tofu Wrapped Rice Balls)

Yu Bu Cho Bap is a Korean form of rolls. The inside of the roll is rice mixed with seeds and other flakes for flavor. The outside of the yu bu cho bap is fried tofu. This dish is very popular in Korea because of its ease in preparation as well as in its ease of transportation. This is how you make Yu Bu Cho Bap.

Here is the list of ingredients. You are going to need simply rice and a package of yu bu cho bap wrapper. The package of yu bu cho bap can be found in all korean markets.

The next thing you need to do is to prepare the rice. Just prepare it like you have always done because there is no specific way that you have to do rice, unlike sushi.

Once the rice is done cooking, spoon it into a large bowl and let it sit and cool down for a while so that it's easier to handle the rice.

Once the rice has cooled down, open your package of yu bu cho bap wrapper. Although this is not usually done, I usually add the liquid that is in the package so that the rice is a bit sweeter and has more flavor. Inside the package should be a pack of flakes (sorry, but I'm not sure what these flakes are). Add those flakes to the rice and mix it well.

Once you have done that, get the rice and make medium size balls (or smaller, depending on the size of the package). Then open the yu bu cho bap wrapper, and add the rice ball in. Push the rice down once it's in so that it doesn't overflow.

Now you can simply relax and eat. Teach your friends and family how to make this delicious dish today.

The Advantage of Using Automatic Rice Cookers

More and more people are trying to include healthy grains like brown and wild rice into their diet. There is a diet plan based on rice that has been called safe, fast and effective and is in part, based on a diet that is used by an in-house facility that has had great successes over many years. Of course, not everyone has the time or the money to check into this particular facility, so it is easier to recreate the diet plan in your own home. Instead of trying to cook the rice that you will need with other methods, automatic rice cookers are a better and easier tool to turn to.

Healthy Protein and Versatility

Rice

Automatic rice cookers can help you get the right texture and consistency of the rice that you are eating. Rice, especially brown rice and some of the other varieties can be a great part of the diet because of their high protein content. Protein, one of the major macronutrients that the human body needs to have, is important because it helps to boost metabolism so that you burn more calories during the day. The body works the hardest to digest and utilize proteins, which means a higher calorie burn as well as keeping you full for longer.

Brown rice can be the beginning of a number of dishes including stir fries that allow you to use any number of vegetable combinations so that you are never eating the same thing every day. Boredom can be a major obstacle to deal with when you are trying to follow a diet plan, so being able to perfectly cook not only brown rice but other rice varieties and vegetables is helpful.

Release the Flavor, Not the Starch

Rice is one of those foods that can be potentially difficult to cook. If you cook it too long, you end up with a gummy, mushy mess while if you don't cook it long enough it is hard and unpalatable. Rice and pastas that are cooked for too long are also very starchy and the body uses their sugars far too quickly contributing to blood sugar spikes and potential weight gain.

Perfectly cooked rice can be a healthy part of your diet plan but very elusive. Even instant rice can be hard to time and just one minute too short or too long can ruin the entire dish.

No More Babysitting Your Rice or Pasta

When you put pasta or rice on the stove to cook, you have to be right there to watch it, every single minute. There is no running to answer the phone or anything else because you are going to end up with a pot of clumpy, pasty and inedible starch and will either have to change your menu or start all over. With an automatic rice cooker, you put in the rice or other foods and the water or broth, set the controls as directed and you are ready to go without worrying that you are going to get the right flavor and texture.

Whole Grain Rice: Why Brown Rice Is Better Than White

It's dinner time and you feel like rice. Which rice should you choose? White rice or brown rice? If you are looking for added health benefits, brown rice should be the obvious answer. If you are looking for more information on whole grain rice, you have come to the right place. Throughout this article we will discuss what whole grains are, why brown rice is better than white rice, and what other foods hold nutritious benefits for a healthy diet.

For those of you who are unaware, let's begin our discussion by defining whole grain foods. A whole grain, or a kernel, is sometimes referred to as 'the seed of life'. Why? Because whole grains are a type of seed that provide much needed nourishment for a plant. A whole grain consists of three main parts including the Bran, the Endosperm, and the Germ. The outer layer of the kernel, also known as the Bran, provides plants (and our bodies) with several nutrients including fiber, vitamin B, minerals, protein, and phytonutrients. The next, or middle, layer of the kernel is called the Endosperm. The Endosperm consists of carbohydrates, proteins, and vitamin B. Finally comes the Germ. The Germ is the smallest part of the kernel but still holds a variety of nutrients including minerals, vitamins B and E, and Phytonutrients. When these three components are left in tact, they create a whole grain which provides us with a variety of nutrients that help our bodies flourish.

So, why is brown rice a better choice than white rice? To answer this question, we need to understand how rice is made. Before rice is packaged and ready to be cooked, it undergoes a variety of processes. First, the rice seeds are processed through a rice "husker" to be milled. This removes the husks of the grain (the outer portion). After this one step is finished, you have brown rice. White rice, however, undergoes even more steps. With white rice, once the rice has been husked, the germ and bran are removed, and the grain is polished. As stated previously, the germ and bran of the grain contain a variety of nutrients. Therefore, when white rice is created, many of the nutrients and vitamins are removed from the rice. With brown rice, however, the bran and germ remain intact, keeping the nutrients and vitamins within the rice.

According to nutrition experts, both men and women are supposed to consume at least 3 servings of whole grains each day. One serving of whole wheat is equivalent to ½ cup of brown rice so, unless you are eating a lot of rice, be sure to eat other whole grain foods throughout the day. Also try to eat a variety of fruits, vegetables, seeds, and healthy fats. For the healthiest of all diets, avoid foods that are processed or that contain soy or sugar. Also try to avoid meats and dairy products as much as possible.

For a healthy diet, be sure to consume at least 3 servings of whole grains each day. Doing so will benefit your nutrition, as well as decrease your risk of heart disease, cancer, and diabetes. Whole grains can also benefit anyone who is looking to lose some weight. If you want to keep your diet healthy, replace your white rice with brown rice and purchase a variety of whole grain foods which you can eat throughout the day.
